MISSION
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to protect and uplift the lives of stray dogs and cats through compassionate care, shelter, and medical assistance in Morocco. We are dedicated to preventing cruelty and neglect by offering a safe haven, life-saving treatments, and community education, ensuring every stray animal has a chance at a healthy, loving life.
PURPOSE
Our purpose is twofold: to be a sanctuary for stray animals in need and a voice for their protection. We work tirelessly to rescue animals from dangerous conditions, providing them with critical medical care and a nurturing shelter. Alongside direct care, we engage the community to prevent cruelty by promoting humane treatment, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Through these efforts, we aim to reduce the suffering of strays and offer them a path to recovery, safety, and eventually, a forever home.
ABOUT US
At STRAYS, we believe every animal deserves love, care, and a safe place to call home. We are on a mission to prevent cruelty toward stray dogs and cats in Morocco by rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing critical medical care to those in need. Our vision goes beyond rescue—we plan on building appropriate shelter and medical facilities where these animals can heal, thrive, and eventually find forever homes. By educating the community, promoting compassion, and leading by example, we aim to break the cycle of neglect and abandonment. Together, we can create a world where no animal suffers on the streets, and every tail has a happy ending.
VISION
We envision a world where every stray animal is treated with love, compassion, and respect. Our goal is to prevent cruelty before it begins by fostering a community of empathy and awareness. Through building safe, sustainable shelters and providing essential medical care, we aim to give every stray dog and cat the second chance they deserve. Our vision is to create a future where no animal is left to suffer alone, and where kindness replaces neglect—one rescue, one healed heart, one forever home at a time.
GOALS
Expand Shelter Capacity
Our goal is to significantly expand the shelter’s capacity in Morocco to accommodate more stray dogs and cats in need, providing them with a safe and nurturing haven. This initiative includes building new, state-of-the-art facilities and improving current infrastructure to ensure that every animal has access to a clean, comfortable, and secure environment.
Access to Medical Care
Our goal is to launch mobile veterinary units to provide free or low-cost medical care, including vaccinations, spay/neuter programs, and treatment for injured or sick animals in underserved areas. Our goal is to treat as many animals by the end of the year.
Donations and Volunteering
Our goal is to increase community involvement through donations and volunteering to help stray dogs and cats in need. By providing time, resources, and care, volunteers and donors play a vital role in offering these animals local safe havens. Contributions will support shelter expansion, medical care and equipment, and daily necessities, ensuring that more strays receive the love and protection they deserve.
Promote Humane Treatment
Our goal is to implement a community outreach program in Morocco that focuses on humane treatment and animal abuse prevention, offering workshops and campaigns to educate the public on how to care for animals with respect and love. We aim to reach all animal lovers, fostering empathy and responsible pet ownership.
Change Old Beliefs
Our goal is to develop and distribute content, run awareness campaigns, and partner with local influencers and nonprofits to address cultural attitudes towards stray animals. Through these efforts, we hope to see an increase in community support for stray animal welfare, promoting long-term change in how these animals are viewed and treated across Morocco.
Strong Government Initiatives
Our goal is to collaborate with local and national governments to establish policies and initiatives that support the humane treatment of stray dogs and cats in Morocco. By working closely with authorities, we aim to secure funding, resources, and legislation that promote shelter development, spay/neuter programs, and public awareness campaigns.
